cool pic! I don't feel to bad for the jay . they chase away all the other birds from my feeder and monopolize the area when they are around. I guess maybe I feel a grudge too. when i was a little girl I rescued a baby blue jay from a cat and the momma blue jay started attacking me!
a little history of my falcon, about 20 years ago we had one around with a cord hanging from it's foot.first time i saw it it caught a redwing but the shoulders in flight..
now evidently we have had some breeding going on over the 20 years and now they are common at our home..they are special to me as they are NOT supposed to be in Michigan..

Great pix! We get those same hawks around here. I don't feel bad for the jay. Plenty of jays around. Hawks gotta eat too. Maybe the jay wasn't well. Natural selection & all. Blue Jays are capable of being opportunistic cannibalistic predators themselves. Keep them bird pix coming!
