I had a thread in the economics forum, "Are there any Distributists here?" I wanted to find some people who thought like myself as far as economics. Not to say that there are not tons of great people here as far as permaculture goes, but I was curious about the economic side of things, and wanted to know if I was the sole and lonely Distributist on here.

I was not trying to imply that anybody else was a fool if they did not agree with me; that was not the point of the post at all. (Not to imply that I think Permaculture practitioners wouldn't find Distributism very useful, as it is an economic system that sounds a lot like the "Big Three Ethics." However, I was only trying to say "Hey, here's this wonderful thing I found. Anybody else like this? Sort of a Distributist fan statement, I guess.) I did answer peoples comments, which were mostly negative. However, I felt I had to do this, since I had posted the thing, and I had been rather vague in the opening post. I think this confused some people. If I implied that they were laking in intelligence, it was certainly not intentional.

Anyway, the thread disappeared after about 18 hours with no warning. I thought people were warned if they said something inappropriate.

If anyone can help me figure out what happened, I would appreciate it.

The whole thread got too riddled with religion and politics and got itself moved to the compost heap.

Both those subjects are technically no-no's. They might get tolerated in the new ulcer-factory forum but only members with at least four apples can post there.

What happened to the "Winter read-along book club for Permaculture: A Design Manual by Bill Mollison" thread? I received an email that there was activity on it but I don't have access to it when I pick on the link in the email. I also looked for it directly in Permies but don't see it.

Ah - that's a bug.

It has been moved to a brand new forum, but it seems as though not everyone can see the forum.

Hang on - I'll go see if I can push a few buttons and persuade it to work.

I may be some time...

OK, I've moved it back to the books forum - here's the link https://permies.com/t/30283/books/Winter-read-book-club-Permaculture

Still not sure what's happened to the design manual forum, but I'm working on it...

And Jaikiran sorted out the problem with the new forum. He's much better at these computery button things than I am. Thankyou Jaikiran!
