I've been on a mission to find real hardy trees & plants to grow. After looking around, I've decided to take a shot at growing 3 types of Chickasaw plums. I bought 1 regular Chickasaw on eBay & another 2 cultivars, Guthrie & Odoma from Mail - Order Natives. They are about 4' x .5" and only $10.00 each. I'm aware of the suckering habit of the standard Chickasaw & figured I would plant it at the seasonal creek for wildlife. I'm betting on the rabbits to keep it in check.
Anyone else in the high desert grow these things?
