I'm looking for a design I recall for a small, temporary structure to live in while building your earthship, but I can't figure out which Reynolds book it was in. Does anyone know what I'm referring to, and which book it is in? It was a "get some buds to help you, then help them" sort of a project, about a week to build. Earth shelf excavation, tires or bales on top of the shelf, viga type roof rafters, bales or maybe loose straw insulation on top. Covered with plastic sheeting? Thanks.

I know what you are talking about, there was a video journal of a build on youtube as well. But I don't remember where it was in print.

Brilliant! Thank you so much! Found the video here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-6AZ1Q81tHE

I still like to know which book it is in, if anyone remembers.

Great stuff, folks - thanks! We have decided that this would make an excellent freeze-proof pump/tank house for our well. Let the tire collecting begin!
