For almost 4 years now I have been on a search, not for just a farm and enough land to raise cattle but for an opportunity.
The opportunity that I am looking for is to either find a farm and build it up into an eco-village or find an eco-village and raise livestock for money and for meat to give to the village.

I would love to help others start and establish their eco-village/farm or to partner with an existing Eco-village
I do have experience with cattle and I know how important grass fed/finished beef as well as grass fed dairy is important to our diet and healing our teeth (Weston Price or Paleo diet)

I am an excavator and a heavy equipment operator working for a local company in Saskatchewan, and I have knowledge and experience for establishing
infrastructure (roads, sidewalks, water, sewer)
Now my wife and I also celebrate the bible feasts, we're not Jewish. We actually grew up christian but both of us found that we believed in the whole bible and not just the New testament... like we keep the sabbath, and we are learning about the hebrew days like the day starts when the sun goes down.

We're also learning about healing our teeth and getting full jaw development in our son so he doesn't need braces. (Weston A Price)

So if you want to share a farm with my family, or if you know of many families that are trying to start a farm share please let me know.
I would love to join with them.

Thanks
Alex

Where are you looking to buy land?

I'm looking to do the same sort of thing in Western north carolina.

I would personally like to buy lots of land and somehow go in to it with a lot of different people.

THere are lots! of people in my community right now trying to buy land.

---How do I weave it all together? does anyone have a pattern? Lawyers please!

Steven

Alex,
Don't give up on your search, you will find what your seeking and using the forums is a good way to get the word out. I like to think of it like sowing seeds, if you sow many you will eventually have success.

You may want to clarify what your expectations are regarding your faith. Do you wish to find others who share your beliefs or are you open to working with anyone who has the a similar philosophy in the agricultural and/or ecological realm? You may be scaring some folks off if they think you'll be trying to "convert" them or something. I believe most people here though are fairly open-minded and accepting.

That said, while I don't have any serious plans of starting an eco-village anytime soon I'd love to see something resembling one evolve here and there are opportunities available. I work on a large industrial farm owned by my family and would like to eventually separate away from it while taking some serious sized acreage out of the GMO/pesticides regime. Or better yet convince my farming partners to change they way we do things for the better on the entire farm but I doubt that will ever happen.

There is a homestead for sale just up the road from my ten acres and the family farm is based another 1.5 miles down the road. With a serious plan complete with realistic numbers and the right partners I'm sure I could get some land.

Message me if you'd like more details.

Any progress? I know farming with others makes the job more fun and makes the load lighter.

Hey Alex, We're looking at the Rock Creek BC area for a large Perm developement. We'd need someone with track hoe experience of course and the knowledge to critically assess a used hoe that we'd buy. Do some indepth dam and swale construction learnings through a Perm course / probably one of Pauls workshops, closest location.

Already have a Heavy Duty Mechanic on board

Will be out there this month looking at properties to buy. We want at least a half section and maybe bigger= $?

We'll be including W.A.Price, Horse power, Spiritual, Light workers, Counselling center for healing addictions with nature and nutrition. Lots of niches to fill in this project!
