Hey Folks!

My partner and I are moving to Taos in October 2025, I got an apprentice building gig! We’re so excited to be moving, but man, rent is a tricky thing out there.

I have a feeling we’re better off getting into town and then finding a rental, rather than trying to find one online.

So I’ve come to ask for help from the people of Taos! Is anyone out there able to host us for a little bit while we find a place to live? Hopefully no longer than 2 weeks (unless we’re a hoot and you want us to move in to your studio apartment in the back ! We can help out around the property, give you some cash, work out a good deal that suits!

My partner and I are both fun, kind, considerate and early to bed kind of people. We have no contacts out in Taos and we’re just screaming into the void and hoping someone hears us c:

If anyone sees this outside of Taos but has friends or family there, please pass this message along!

Many thanks and happy harvest,
Z

Look into the Neem Karoli Baba Ashram and Hanuman temple.  I would guess they offer free daily, or weekly prasad (food for all).  Might be a good place to make connections, get to know locals, and find possibilities.  There might even be a bulletin board somewhere.

May want to try posting to the Southwest regional forum? Good luck - awesome place! Several distinct satellite communities within 20-30 min that may be easier to find rental space (and welcoming community) in, worth exploring a bit on the ground to see what feels right for you.

Welcome to the forum and congratulation a building gig.

I disagree about trying to find a rental online.

In my opinion it is wise to know what rental cost...
