Can I really build a rocket mass heater in a two-story converted cabin house with almost no walls and lots of angles. How would I do that?
It's a old weirdly built house In the woods
Would I use my existing fireplace? And the existing Heat vents?
I'd love to do a rocket mass heater but my floor is not on the ground since someone dug it out and there's a basement now... hard to explain
Any answers?

Hi Lyn,
there are definitely light options for building a rocket mass heater without grounding it on the floor.
Have you explored the RMH Resources page yet?

Could you give us a better idea of what you're looking for? And about your house?

Hi Lyn;
A batchbox core in a stratification bell will work great for you.
Your floor may need some extra support in the basement, not too hard to accomplish.
You will want a chimney exit through the roof.
Your existing Fireplace, is it an open hearth? Or is it a standard wood stove?
