Hi guys,
what are those 'sun-jokes' Paul mentions all the time. English is not my first language. So please, could you give me the biological/Latin name or a link to the Wikipedia-page? My spelling is probably wrong because googling it, resulted in getting jokes about the sun

Please clue me in, where does Paul mention these sun-jokes?

Are they in podcasts because I never do podcasts and I have never heard of sun-jokes.

Please share an example ...

And welcome to the forum!

Rereading this topic maybe Les is on the right track as it is not sun-jokes though Sun Chokes, a nick name for the Artichoke that Les linked to.

Paul mentions them all the time.

The ch sounds like a J sound.  Chokes becomes jokes.

I thought sun-jokes was their name for many years and I'm not the only native english speaker i know who did. Especially because these root vegetables don't look anything like an artichoke.

I can't imagine how tricky it would be for someone who has english as a second language. Not everywhere spells the ch sound with a ch.
