Is there a way to post art where it can’t be scraped or copied by AI?

Short answer, no.  Not on a publicly visible site.

Long answer, the way we post it can damage ai datasets and scrapers.

Low resolution images are difficult to scrape.  Having background stuff in the image as well as the art confuse most scrapers.  Posting imperfect art confuses ai that is unethically trained and makes it think it's good.

Thank you for the AI confounding tips, the links and videos. 🙏

Bummed that this site doesn’t somehow have AI obfuscators lol!😅

The tool I have heard of is out of Chicago, made by artists in collab w computer dudes, called Glaze:
https://glaze.cs.uchicago.edu/what-is-glaze.html

I wonder if AI will overcome this quickly tho? I hope not.
Apparently this tool is free?

Ai obfuscators only work a few weeks at best.  It is a constant process....see the videos in the link why it doesn't work as a long term solution.

Humans are far better at it.

But you are free to use them on your images.

Ah ok
Thank you

I love sharing my art, but I’ve stopped doing it publicly, sadly - because of AI 😠
😔😥

Hopefully there will be a way around it at some point. Wishful thinking…😟

I have a private forum set up on permies for art and sharing art.  Ai bots can't see it so cannot scrape it.

Partly so I didn't flood the homesteading forum with my art obsession and partly to help fund my supplies. And partly so google wouldn't see.  It's a one time fee for entry.

https://permies.com/t/226512f6/chicken-fan-club

There are a couple of other private forums on permies that google and scrapers cannot see.  We could start a thread there.

PIE membership costs a few dollars a month and the money goes towards helping pay the server bills (which are huge as this is an independently owned site).

The daily-ish forum is also hidden but free for everyone signed up for the daily-ish email.

Both those sometimes get early acceas to permaculture content and other goodies.

Of course, I found a very beautiful couch. Definitely. And this tiny ad:
