Hey Everyone!

I've seen threads from various members living in Japan ranging back 10+ years (Peter's RMH build & L. Johnson's
"Home garden in Japan" thread to name a couple) and I'm wondering how many people are still living here/using Permies.

If possible I'd love to foster a more tight-knit Permies Japan community where we can share resources that we find, share experiences, and potentially even get seed trades going!

So with that said, if you're active on Permies (or even just lurking as I was until recently) and would like to connect with other Permies living in Japan, please drop a reply here!

I hope you get some (more local!) responses to your post.

One way of building community here is to post more yourself - that way more 'lurkers' will be tempted to join in .

I sometimes chip in on Japanese based threads, as the Northern and Mountain climates are fairly similar to the UK and we grow many Japanese vegetables as garden plants. I'm trying to spread my 'Udo' around at the moment, although am yet to try it as a vegetable! I think here it may prefer a slightly sunnier spot.

Hi Nancy, thanks for the support. I do plan on posting a lot more in future, this is just the beginning!

The place I often see Udo growing here is on old trails in the woods with infrequent use... Perhaps they prefer slightly compacted soils?

That's interesting.... I can certainly do compacted soil ! I've been working hard to remediate an overgrazed sheep field. It maybe that they get spread along the trails as people pass, or has been propagated there for foraging in the past.

I agree. Here's the link: http://stoves2.com
