I grew these from seed last year and brought them indoors for the winter rather than let them freeze.
I know I can root cuttings but will what's left of the plants regrow if I cut those long stems off to root in water?
I'll probably need to divide and repot as there are several plants in this one pot.

Can I bring them in year after year as houseplants?

I always have loved the colored patterned leaves and didn't realize how easy they would be to grow from seed.

If you cut the long stems off, new shoots will grow from the remaining nodes. But since your plants are already flowering, new shoots probably won't be too long before they try to flower again. Maybe you can give then some high nitrogen fertilizer such as diluted urine to encourage vegetative growth.

Coleus root incredibly easily in water, I usually just snip below a node and have roots within a week. They do come back year after year indoors as long as you keep pinching off the flower buds.

that's what I was hoping for.

I did let some of these bloom but not all and I don"t think any made seed.

I'll go ahead and do the cuttings and see what happens!

I'll try to keep track of cuttings from plants that had gone to seed and those that have not.
and some nitrogen for sure!
