This book covers the fundamentals of grass fed beef from herd selection to the grass cycle. It also talks about water and fencing infrastructures and the management techniques for winter and drought grazing, pest, parasites and disease management. Lastly, the book cover the business planning aspects of a grass based cattle operation.
I read this one about a year and a half ago and so much of the information is still fresh in my mind. Now that I just got cattle of my own I think I should get my own copy.
This book goes into such amazing detail and provides a blueprint for running a grass fed cattle business that I sincerely believe will lead to success for anyone with the patience and discipline to follow it. The philosophy presented by the author that forms the foundation for this instructional manual can be applied to any personal endeavor.
I read this book once through a year ago and now I'm reading through it again. I agree with the other viewer. This book is packed with information, it is organized very well, it uses good illustrations and it is a bargain for the price. I haven't found another book on the subject that comes close.
