I came across this in the Guardian and found the argument put forward very interesting and thought Permies would be interested too .

Interesting. You know what I think could be a game change? 3D printing. Probably a whole 'nother thread. I'd love to be able to 3D print some topography maps!

I have been waiting for 3D printers since I was in art school 25 years ago & I do think it'll be a real game changer when it hits 20% saturation.

The article was interesting and ... long. If he teemed up with the Transition Movement that would be something! I've downloaded a sample of his book, Open Source Everything, to my kindle.
