Hello,
We own a couple acres in Old Concho, Arizona. We noticed a lot of folks have purchased land in the past 10+ years in this area in the hopes of homesteading the property. Few have lasted but out of those some have done well. We're in the middle I guess since we're still building the infrastructure before committing to move on permanently. We've owned this property for about 8 years now but it's been slow building on it because we're Broke Ass Po' Folk. Most people out here are so I thought I'd make a post for those considering the area possibly benefitting from our experience in Concho. So far, we got the property surveyed. This isn't as easy as it sounds. Then got a perc test and passed. Then built a 5 strand barbed wire fence and gate around the perimeter of the property line. We also put in 3/4 minus red cinder for our driveway and graded homesite. We just got a water meter to the property line. We also have a 20ft shipping container. We have a van with 400 watts of solar on top that powers a charging station and a freezer. We are currently hauling water but I bought 750ft of 1in pvc water line. Trenching looks impossible so I guess I need someone with a backhoe. That's where we're at right now. Howdy!

Tell me more about the water line.
There is a method of putting pipe into the ground which involves opening tough ground with a trenching hook and then going along the same line and feeding the pvc pipe into the trench hook which now has a pipe layer attachment. And the tool puts the pipe down into the soil.
If you are going to irrigate, depending on the water supply, put other pipes into the same trench, if you trench it.
What other plans or problems are you seeing?
