repel centipedes

I live in Santa Fe, NM and while I'm "live and let live" with most creatures, I cannot handle the venomous centipedes. They're really my only concern because we're at too high an elevation for rattlesnakes. The reason I don't want them around is b/c of my cats. I'm a vet and I've seen what bites from these guys can do to animals. I've found one inside the house before and one on my catio before. Does anyone have any recommendations for non-pesticide products that can help repel these guys from the areas my cats are around? Thank you!!

I also live in a place with venomous critters and I hear you. I thought it was interesting that they're attracted to humid spots. I always find them in the front near my dog's water bucket, so I suppose that explains that. So they're probably looking for water or for food (other bugs). keeping those things off the catio (or removing places where water might condense after temp changes) might be useful.
Something we do to keep brown spiders away (the big venom problem here) is to make sure we're constantly moving things around. A sofa that doesn't get moved every few weeks will have a spider behind it. We try to move everything out to sweep every so often, because most insects and arthropods just want to be left alone. And maybe a plus, if these centipedes are carnivores (eating other bugs), if you're keeping everything swept up pretty often there's not much hanging around to attract their prey.
Hopefully someone will appear with some firsthand experience about plants, I've heard some things about peppermint oil for repelling insects but had no successful experiences with it. Probably can't hurt though!

We use Diatomaceous earth with good results for centipedes. Here they are thick and it helps a lot.

You might try going out into your yard on a warm night with a UV flashlight. I know that scorpions and some centipedes really "light up" under a strong UV light.

I use vinegar 50/50 solution of vinegar/water in a spray bottle for most bugs though this zaps them repelling them.

I will admit that I don't have centipedes to the best of my knowledge.
