Hello Permies!

My partner, our 5 month old son, and I are hoping to find a new living situation. We’re currently in a city apartment with limited access to nature.

We are interested in permaculture and homesteading and are curious if there are any people in this area with property they would be willing to rent to some newbies trying to gain experience and get our hands dirty.

We are looking for a situation in which we can contribute to the work - whether its helping out in the gardens, feeding chickens, assisting with building eco structures, setting up water catchment systems, or maintain whatever needs maintaining... we really just want to learn. My partner works full time, so paying rent would never be an issue. I am currently staying at home to take care of our son, and would be helping out with projects on the property as much as time allows with a young child, while my partner would be available to help out in the evenings or weekends when he is home from work.

We are open to a variety of living situations - intentional communities, ecovillages, shared housing – in a rural or urban setting. We are comfortable with a range of living situations, from communal to independent.
If you are interested in renting to us, or know of any resources that might be of help to us, please let us know! Thank you.

Hi Tara! My name is Mercury. My partner and I are looking for a similar situation, however we're not going to be able to move for 2.5 years while we save up money. We're currently in Arkansas and plan to move to Portland at that time. We're really interested in trying to find people of like mind to get started with when we get there! I'd love to exchange ideas with you. Feel free to message me.
