I have an idea. Make a chamber that can retrofit onto most existing wooodstoves, that turns regular woodstoves into rocket stoves. But, instead of your usual 55 gal drum, the top is clear quartz tube on the inside (creasote burn chamber) and a Pyrex bell, so we can see all the pretty flames. Exhaust vents at the bottom of the bell, and goes wherever... rocket mass set up, metal pipes around the room, whatever.

2 potential problems.

1.  quartz molecular structure undergoes a transition at just over 1000 degrees F.  Alpha to Beta transition cause thermal stress and cracking.  So the temperatures would have to move very slowly over the whole structure.  Might be solved by doing it in small blocks.

2.  It would likely function poorly because of the high mass and because the heat wouldn't be reflected back into the burn tunnel and chimney.

So Paul should become a science fiction writer?

I did NOT cry! It was this tiny ad that cried. The tiny ad is a crier, not me.
