Summary

This is the second edition of a book Jason Akers wrote about how to truly gain food independence in your life. He explores this by delving into four the four categories in the title. More specifically, in the Hunt section he goes over hunting, fishing, and trapping. In the Grow section he covers gardening and husbandry. In Gathering the reader gets a glimpse of the basics and Eat is pretty self explanatory. In each section he provides the reader with a way out from the broken food systems in our society today.

Great video!
2 things in there I wish we had here is Australia - Maple trees that we could tap for syrup, and wild Lion's Mane mushrooms! Certainly none up here in Queensland.

I've started growing Oyster mushrooms, and Shiitake mushrooms at our rental for now, hopefully we can get onto acreage soon and expand things and start a food forest. I'm still trying to source a Lion's Mane culture to get them started too.

Thankfully we get wild deer and goats up here, so that fills our freezer once or twice a year

Nice Job, Jason! I am looking for the same ways to become self sufficient here in North Texas. I currently raise chickens for eggs on my urban plot and have a nice garden for veggies.
