Just Some General thoughts, Most Tiny Home Builders are not truly contemplating moving their final/forever homes EVER ! Many are putting wheels under
their Tiny houses as a Way to Escape the vision and legal arm of local Code Enforcement Officers C.E.O.s
As such, many people propose to modify lite tow-behind trailers and use the Feather-light Spindle-y axles found under those trailers to Escape said enforcement!
Often a lite weight trailer is acquired, and a trailer registration is purchased, and then the trailer sits in a side yard and depending on the new owners skill set
some kind of structure is created on top of the Trailer !
Often these Trailers -located in suitable climates- and provided with minimum amenities. i.e. Minimum heating cooling capacities and minimum water and sewer
storage capacities serve the basic needs of their owners well !
RV Insurance Brokers remind us that even the simplest pop-up type trailer being moved from one location to the next is experiencing the immediate equivalent
of simultaneous EarthQuakes and hurricane force winds during the trailers move, combine that with over-loading, poor tires, and axles, zero bearing maintenance,
and near total in-experience with operating a vehicle while towing a trailer, and disaster is a common outcome !
Short version- It has taken me 4 paragraphs to state why heavy-duty trailers should be considered FIRST when planning a tiny home on wheels build!
I have spent zero time dealing with heaters, Thermal mass, and such amenities as cooking and washing, room for storing possessions, and a minimum amount
on water/sewer storage, or hater heating!
The hardest part of learning to drive and tow a trailer behind your car is learning just how big your personal space has just become! And the single most important
part of that learning experience is in learning to L@@K -UP ^^^^^^^^^^!
