Hi Jessica
There’s a group called climate safe villages (csv.org?)
They made a profitable private club for thier own interests but there is a branch of them looking to circle up in Mi.  Maybe you’ll find some sincere friends there

Best to you, Chris

Hi Jessica,
regarding an earlier reply, there is a group called climate safe villages, and some of them are actively looking to start a community in the upper Midwest, possibly Michigan. Climate Safe Villages is a not-for-profit. If you are interested, check them out.

Hi I’m Dani, nearly 49 yr old white female currently living in Fort Wayne, IN. I grew up as a farm kid in Huntington, just southwest of where I am now. I’ve been a nurse since 2004 with my masters in nursing education in 2018. I used to love my job but now I dread getting up in the morning; I have got to get away from the workforce and live my life the way I want. I also want to start a commune of sorts where we own the land and all rights to it; a group of like minded, earth conscious, spiritually free people who want to live a self sustainable lifestyle.  A community where we all work together to live our lives the way we want to and be free from the 9-5 that is taking our lives away from us. I have a 16yr old daughter that may or may not follow my path and that’s her choice. I see myself in a partially wooded area where we grow our own food, raise chickens, rabbits, few goats, cows, ducks… whatever we want. Try to have people with different skill sets so we have even less need for paying for work or items like say I’m a holistic nurse with interest in essential oils, natural remedies using what Mother Earth provides and I have farming background as well as dog grooming and veterinary training.  We would need mechanics, electricians, construction, farmers, healers, lawyers… you get the drift… all races, ages, backgrounds as long as you work to support the survival of our little community. No violence would be permitted obvious rules that shouldn’t even need mentioned if the community is of like minded people.
If anyone reads this and are on this journey as I am, have a place like this, or are also looking to find a tribe to grow similar ideas with please contact me!  The quiet country homestead life is screaming my name!  And if you happen to be a single male or female… I don’t care anymore at this point in life, looking for a like minded partner in whichever form or fashion the powers that be have in store for us… I know my life partner/ twin flame is out there somewhere waiting for the day we finally cross paths to get this life of ours back on track.
I’m pretty open to where I’d like to have this type of community, but prefer areas no further west than Missouri, Iowa; no further north than Mid Michigan like Grand Rapids across to Ann Arbor, and must be in a racially, sexually diverse/accepting area because I want no one to feel they aren’t safe/free to be who they are. I can be reached at diggs75@gmail.com. If you email me, put Saw Your Commune Post in comment so I see it. Too many junk emails.  Thanks!

I would definitely be interested. I have years of medical experience including survival medicine I taught while in the Navy. I already have some heirloom seeds ready to go. Please reach out to me if anyone is aware of a current or upcoming community. Ericausn@yahoo.com

I guess I should update this — I have gotten to meet a few people because of this thread and it’s been an overall good experience. Without admitting failure or anything, I will just say that I am not currently seeking people.

Space seems cool in the movies, but once you get out there, it is super boring. Now for a fascinating tiny ad:
