I have officially made this solution, and put it in the reusable ziplock bags. I took it to work and gave it to the people who work outside all day to give it the ultimate test. Hopefully I will be able to report back tomorrow with results on how long it lasted. I understand from the manager I gave it to, that it was going to be used today in a truck that does not have air conditioning. Outside temps here today were around 85 degrees I think.

I made some too, and my mom wore a ziplock bag cooled on the garage floor around the house yesterday, she always feel overheated, and outside temps were 98 with 109 heat index, so the house was hot even for me.

I'm going to pouch the rest up in sturdier bags with the no suction function of a vacuum sealer. I haven't worked outside, so I haven't tested it on myself in the heat, but if she likes it, I'm probably going to also.

The ziplock off the garage floor felt cool, but not cold. Putting it in the fridge was too cold, would have had to have several layers of cloth, and I was testing skin contact.

I'm calling this a win, and will be continuing with the experimentation.
:D

I'm so glad you're testing this out, Pearl! Mine came too, but I've got far too much on my plate for the next 2.5 weeks, to be able to play. Now, I'll be able to follow along behind you, using your experiments to guide mine! W000t!!

I made the basic 5 cup batch (had to add a bit more water) and xanthan gum.

It filled 3 foodsaver bags about 9x5 inches each, maybe .25 inch thick.

Will see how I work with it :D

Looks like he's moved into making actual fabric and trying to figure out the ins and outs of that process and optimization:
