I use white oak for fire wood, furniture, casks (barrels), basketry, smoking meats and veggies, we roast the acorns for us and some gets made into flour for bannik (fry bread), and I have enough white oaks that the deer, hogs and goats get their fill of acorns too. Next year we will get into mushroom production at which time some of the white oaks will be used for growing mushrooms.
I also have a multitude of hickory trees that get used for tool handles, basketry, smoking wood, Bows, and enough hickory nuts to feed all the critters that like them too.
