Curious About "Earth Almonds", (Chufa Cyperus), anyone tried them? I read that they were once cultivated in the south? Are they a native plant or imported?

What do they taste like?

I tried to grow them but they did not get enough water and died.  I never got a chance to eat them.

I got my starts from JL Hudson seeds.

I tried too but mine died the first winter.I know they are super agressive in the right place under the right cultivation practices as they are listed as a major invasive in potato fields somewhere in WA state.

Thanks for your replies!
Humm, a major invasive in potato fields somewhere in WA state", I had no idea.

I was thinking that I wanted to give them a try here in Montana,
I wondered if the cold winters might be too much for them & if it might be just too dry here?

this is supposed to be a surprise, but it smells like a tiny ad:
