Hey all! Firstly; no, despite living in Mi's upper peninsula for the past ten years I don't have a yooper accent. I'm twenty four, grew up with a farmy lifestyle and still living with my family because I love it and don't want to leave. Currently building myself a cob studio on my parent's land. Love everything to do with permie (had to browse every thread here so it took me awhile to sign up! . I joined because I've been feeling so excited and full of potential and life, with spring blooming around me here on the farm.... and because I got bored researching composting bucket toilet systems, haha! Seriously though, feeling like I have it all right now, with family, farm, critters and gardens--just lacking friends to share in my excitement (because 'normal' people just don't seem to get excited about composting bucket toilets... heehee! ) Looking forward to hanging out here and sharing more about the projects that have me so excited!

welcome to permies Mary

just remember one thing an older gentleman shared with my wife and I

being a yoouper is not being born here, its in your heart and how you live your life up here [not like below the Big Mack]

wen we travel we tell people we are not from Michigan,we are from the Keweenaw [lots of strange looks]

HELLO MARY

Nice to hear from you.

Our group of cooperative farmers and herdsfolk are on a 853 acre farm and golf course on the Garden Peninsula.
Anything we can do to help?
