Hi Tim:
I'm no expert and I'm a fellow 2015 PDC student with you and am submitting my design on Friday. I think you've covered all the site assessment pretty well. I think I would delve into your client's goals a bit more, articulate what their long-term goals are and if what you're suggesting to implement is aligned with them. I understand the client is a market farm/CSA, but the long-term objectives weren't clear to me. Maybe I missed it. Secondly, to give your client a real idea of the cost of implementing your plan, I would be more specific about the crops/plants you're planting in your mainframe design elements. I originally described plantings as you did by stating plant categories, such as fruit trees, understory plants and ground cover including nitrogen fixers. But, as I thought about it, I felt I really needed to identify the actual species my client would need to plant based on my design so they had a clear picture of time, money and level of effort to implement. Planting on swales or other forms of mainframe elements is often an underestimated task and to do it at scale is even more daunting. I concluded it would be difficult to devise an implementation plan/schedule unless I identified the actual species of plants.
Just my dos centavos for whatever they are worth. I'm sure you'll pass with flying colors.
