Another permies member has one of these and demonstrated it to me last summer, it's brilliant. I bought myself one shortly after and love it still.

"Coooooooooool" it certainly is.

I got mine from Amazon marketplace from a company in Germany. I struggled to find many options here in the UK, hence Germany. I've seen them listed as a 'wood splitter' and a 'kindling splitter'.

Hunter, Tim, Mike : I really like the tool with its leaver action and am interested in the price . At the same time grows which were made to make wood shingles

is the kind of tool that if found at an auction should be bought up to keep ''Collectors'' from hanging it upon a wall /// see link below :

A bungee cord will work as well as an inner tube, or you can stack a lot of wood inside an old (smallish) tire and whack away ! Even though the other tool is a

mallet that strikes the Frow -properly this is called 'baton'-ing For the good of the crafts ! Big AL

It was dear enough at ~£90 (about £15 of that was postage) but I'm positive you can get it cheaper.

Tim Cooke : Were you aware of the new Forum that put Ireland and England together ! (almost as nasty as putting France and England together !)

Any way- I see Wranglestar has an interesting variation of splitting wood in a tire ! It looks over built for me though his use of the Uni-bit is probably

the best use yet of that tool ! //// See link below :

For the Craft ! Big AL
