Gay Male Permaculture Newbie

Hello everyone!

New to this forum (already had some great advice though) and thought it may be a nice idea to introduce myself.

I live in a small town near Nottingham in the UK, 29 going on 30, just looking to move to a house with what amounts to almost the smallest garden possible that can still, legitimately, be called a garden. My passions are history, philosophy and politics; i'm also a very keen walker, time permitting.

I have few agendas, of course if I met a gorgeous guy with a 100 acres and a million pounds in the bank, excellent, but conversation and friends would be more than welcome!

Hi Scott, of course I tick ZERO boxes for you but I thought I would say hello back because I used to live in a small town near Nottingham, ish, well just outside Newark actually. Also I thought you should join Stone Monkey rapper sword dancers because you just look like you'd fit in. Maybe you already have and that's why I subconsciously wanted to say hello!

They dance rapper sword, it's nothing to do with rapping it's what they call the springy steel bands that they dance with. Some version of the origin of the dance reckon these are based on a grooming implement for pit ponies, but I have also been told the very oldest dances come from seaside villages with no coal mines, so who knows. Look up www.rapper.org.uk Stone Monkey are based in Long Eaton, anyway, and they're on f'book. I think it's the beer bottle that makes me think you'd fit in Tell them Hester Winterbourne sent you, doubt they will guess who I am!

I used to play often with rappers in Newcastle It means something different from the states type rapper

Is one of these chaps you or were you Rapping a bit earlier than that?

Thanks David, I am no good at posting links. My favourite youtube videos of rapper are "two man Sallyport" and "Stone Monkey horse dance". Unfortunately after seeing the latter my 10yo wrote in a school project "rapper dancing started when some men were grooming their favourite pit pony and their swords got tangled up"...

No Alas I dont dance rapper ( I teach and Dance Irish Set dancing but thats another story) I have played for the dancing as a musician .

Well from my brief foray into "Green Singles" internet dating, there is quite a lot of spiritual type dancing goes with the territory. So why not morris and its related forms too. Especially when you note how we tend to be drawn to dancing at certain times of year (Mayday, Plough Sunday). When I first started dancing, I danced out once and then got pregnant, so our "clown" used to take great delight in announcing to the crowd "we dance for fertility and fecundity"... it is often said to be a fertility dance. There's one in the Cotswold tradition called "bean planting".

Green Singles? Never heard of that, I know what i'm doing with my evening now! There is much more to permaculture than I realised, I wonder what other aspects I am missing!
