There is a story to why quack watch is being run. It pretends to "investigate" doctors who are prescribing inadequate health care. It is really trying to shut down alternative health care that doesn't use the guaranteed profit methods of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery. Why? Because if you can use a plant or fungus, it will be too cheap and they won't make millions off of you , even if it's effective. Check out this site which explains:

www.quackpotwatch.org

I tried to use it on Google Chrome and it wouldn't come up. Why? Could there be someone who doesn't want you to see it? Amazingly, I tried on the Mozilla interference free new private window version and amazingly it came right up! Imagine!

Interesting article at quackwatch. I do believe there is an organized effort to undermine old traditional methods of healing.

Ironically I type this while I am recuperating from surgery on my foot – using modern methods of course.

In my ideal world we would be open minded enough to keep the old tried and true methods and bring them along into the modern world to use hand in hand with modern methods to create a better world for everyone.

In reality our health insurance industry and big pharma are not interested in our health even the tiniest little bit. Big bucks are the bottom line with them.

I do wish people would stop praying to the doctor-gods and start behaving like customers.

If a herbalist suggests a tea we react with suspicion and downright fear.
If a ‘doctor’ prescribes a chemical or a procedure with untold numbers of horrendous side effects we go along without question – we don’t ask how much it will cost, what harm could result.

We can change this today by asking questions. Insist that every doctor explain exactly what they are doing and why. What is this drug and exactly how does it work? Oh yeah, and how much is this going to cost? They HATE that.

We also must learn to stop expecting a pill to correct our problems. Every natural healer I have met requires that we take part in our health. Exercise, nutrition, as well as herbs and tinctures are all part of whole body health management.

pharm and surgeries should not be used to treat chronic illness and degeneration, they don't address the underlying cause. Nutrition/fitness/lifestyle are the main culprits there. Was just reading an article today (I read one every day on this topic it seems) on how Magnesium deficiencies are the root cause of about 20 different chronic ailments usually treated with drugs or surgery...that along with zinc deficiencies and vitamin a and d. Imagine how many toxic pharm drugs we could retire if people used things like magnesium, zinc, and cod liver oil and real traditional foods on a daily basis.

A really great way to get magnesium and other minerals in your diet? Eat the leafy green vegies and weeds that live on your property, or near your house. I agree, John M, much has been lost and we're only now beginning to understand what crucial practices have been cast aside in the name of progress. Vitamin A from yellow and green veg/fruit and vitamin D from being outside in your yard.
