I eat 4-6 a day from my hens. They eat non-GMO feed and whatever else I give them, along with greens and bugs. The eggs are probably the best quality food I have access to. I've got a few quail laying now, and their eggs are even better than the chickens'. I'll have many more quail hens laying in about 3 weeks, so I'll actually up my egg intake.
I've done a lot of reading about eggs and cholesterol and I personally don't think there's anything to worry about with egg consumption. Do your own research, but I know quite a few people who eat eggs from their chickens in large numbers than I do.
FWIW, when I started eating this many eggs I also stopped taking my cholesterol meds. My cholesterol actually got slightly better.

We eat boatloads of eggs. They are biodynamic free range no soy, not battery eggs. One day I hope to have a nice flock and have extras to barter or sell to the neighbors. Havent had a too many eggs in our diet problem yet. Every single thing it takes to create a new life can be found inside an egg. Its a food I find very fascinating and tasty.

Also when it comes to "cholesterol" the cholesterol ( a hormone like substance) in eggs is beneficial, in humans it has been called the master hormone as it is the main building block of other hormones. the human brain is basically a giant lump of cholesterol and saturated fat, on of the reasons peoples health improves eating on the Wapf guidelines which urge people to eat cholesterol rich foods and traditional highly saturated (molecularly stable) fats. Lots of good info out there refuting all the mainstream misinformation, statin nation, "the cholesterol myth", "eat fat lose fat", pretty much anything written by the Weston a Price foundation on the topic, cholesterol-and-health blog (Dr Chris Masterjohn).
our local food system is terrible and my health was declining so I dove heavy into nutritional science a couple years ago and was blown away by all the controversy on the topic.
You might want to read about Vit K2 benefits which is found in the fat of grass fed animals. Not only meat fat, but grass fed butter, and the fat in egg yolks. It's important in bone health and arteries and stuff.
I eat 2 eggs most days, but I don't have chickens and have to buy high quality eggs, which are expensive and difficult to find. 'Cage free', 'organic', 'natural' (meaningless) even 'free range' is not enough. (Free range can mean only going outside for a taste of sun, which can be on a cement paddock). Look for 'pastured eggs' with a bit of a description on how they are pastured. You want eggs from a bird that's pecked around in the grass and consumed a few bugs, etc.
Thanks for the feedback! Our hens free range in a big part of the garden and eat our kitchen scraps, certified organic feed and whatever they find around. They taste fantastic and we really crave them. As they are rich in protein I guess they are a good replacement for the meat we've been eating much less of.
