35 hours of quality instruction on better-than-organic garden practices PLUS the 150 page Garden Master Guide.  The Garden Master Guide is in pre-order status - we are working hard to make it fabulous!

Most Master Gardener courses offer extensive botanical and cultivation information, which is great!   But they also teach that you must use all the bottles and sprayers containing nasty stuff and covered with warning labels, which is not so great - for the gardener or the garden.

There has never been a course taught through an ecological lens . . .

                    . . . Until now.

In the Garden Master Course, we have taken the very best of the Advanced Master Gardener curriculum and improved upon it.  We have employed biological and ecosystemic methods to eliminate the need for conventional (or even certified organic) pesticides and herbicides.  Gardening for the future!

After years of planning, Helen Atthowe came to Wheaton Labs to teach what I now call "The Certified Garden Master Course."  The class sells out every year.  Demand keeps growing.  So last year we set up some high-quality cameras to see if we could gather the footage to make this class available to more people.

About your instructor:

Helen Atthowe has taught Master Gardener courses for 17 years. Having  studied under Fukuoka Helen has spent the last 35 years learning how to pay close attention to the land.  She applies Fukuoka's farming principles to her commercial organic farms, while also adding and developing her own ecological farming practices. She has hands on experience managing a 2,000-acre organic commodity farm as well as growing permaculture food forests.

Helen has a bachelor's degree in agro-ecology, a master's degree in horticulture, and is working on a doctorate in entomology on how reduced-tillage affects beneficial organism populations and crop biological control. Paul and Helen have recorded numerous podcasts together, and they are among Paul's most popular podcasts.

What the Garden Master Course covers:

Unit 1: Getting Started: How everything is connected

Unit 2: The Roots of a Healthy Plant Community: Understanding soil structure and ecology

Unit 3: Strengthening Your Garden: Managing beneficial insects, pests, and disease

Unit 4: Weeds vs. Garden: Working with plant competition in the farm/garden system

Unit 5: Growing a Diet: Planting, pruning and rotating for long-term success

In this combo you'll also find

I would liked to have purchased this, but Paypal is still requiring that I open an account. I'm not willing to do that. And I don't have any crypto currency.

Hi Giordano  -

We have been working on this, so you should now have access to the private forum and will have access to the garden master guide in a few days- it is in pre-order status.

Hi Darrell,

From what I see it looks like you *should* have access to this thread, unless something weird is going on.  When you scroll to the top, do you see the course videos embedded in the first post?

Hello Permies.com.
I can see 2 links to the Garden Master Course e-book after the last video. I have tried several times to activate those links to no avail.
What I am NOT doing to make those links work? I am wrapping up the course and setting up my plan for my 2023 and following years.
My written notes are not all-inclusive and I would like to use the e-guide for reference. Still 16 inches of snow on ground here, but the e-guide would help keep me focused on the plan. And keep my optimism that a new Ice Age isn’t upon my locale. LOL.
Thanks for your help.
Highest Regards, Jay

What happens when you click the download links?

Are you able to download other attachments from other threads on permies?

Looks like I got the download! The iPad parks it in a not so obvious spot …in the header with a down arrow inside a circle. Intuitive if one is intuitive about digital symbolinguistics. (My word not Webster’s 😁). 158 pages. THAT is an effort 😳. Thanks for putting this together. Back to the last discussions and on with the new garden game plan!
BTW, is there a certificate or acknowledgment of completion of this course? Seems these days one is not accepted as being credible without a piece of paper saying one has undergone credentialed tutelage. My garden and dog will not be impressed either way and neither will show appreciation unless given desired  nutrition/nutrients. 🤣.
Thanks again. Highest Regards, Jay Turnbull (Glacial drumlin mesic forest opening garden north central Wisconsin USA)
Yes a wonderful collection of ectopic geology from Canada, but none of the gold nor diamonds ☹️.

Hi.
A couple(*) of questions.

I looked at how to purchase this for a friend, but the purchasing app is asking for VATS, I say yes, then it says currently you aren't selling outside the USA. Would it work if I purchase it without VATS and no presumed invoice?

Also, this bundle is streaming only, with a pdf guide. It is much cheaper than the streaming only option without the guide, how comes?

If I want to save the course in a hard disk to peruse, then I must purchase the downloadable option, but it doesn't come with the guide.

Finally, is there a post where all the options to purchase this course are listed? If so, could you provide links to it please?

(*) 'A couple' sometimes means 'several'.
