If you are worried about it, then plant just a few over in one corner.
They spread, but my experience is that they don't spread that much. When researching varieties, some varieties spread more than others.
I think this is can be said for almost all of the most excellent permaculture plants. They do really well with no further care.
As with nearly anything it can be controlled by bringing in a lot of pigs for a while. Or by layering on a lot of chop and drop all at once.
you say "tin pot dictator" like it is a bad thing!
