I'm having a problem when I try to follow the link in the email notification that a thread I posted in has a new message. I get taken to a screen that states "The topic you are trying to see does not exist." I can sometimes find it by searching or browsing around, but not always. This is frustrating because the reason I clicked the link was that I was interested in seeing the responses.
Is it possible that the thread is in a private forum? In that case, you would need to be logged in to be able to see that thread.
Another explanation is that the whole thread went wonky. Sometimes there will be several comments in the thread that don't meet our publishing standards. So we hide the whole thread while we clean it up. Sometimes we will take a few days until we put the thread back... The idea is to hide the thread now and we'll get around to cleaning it up later.
If you tell us the links we can give more accurate answers.
I had the same problem with the email notification about your replay. My account is set so that I automatically log in. It's a very consistent issue with every email notification. Here's the latest link:
https://permies.com/forums/posts/list/55294#460247 I experimented with copying and pasting the link into my browser instead of clicking and then the link works. I will use this technique from now on. It must be a weird gremlin interface between my email and the Permies links. The links in the dailyish email all work fine.
