Ah but it's not just a dog, it's a working sheep dog.

A friend of mine breeds sheepdogs and I think she considers her best dog to be worth more than any tractor or other equipment on the place.

Tractors are just a collection of parts that can be repaired/replaced.
A well bred and trained work dog is a true asset.

Watching well trained herders is like watching a fine ballet.

The Amish have more than that into a team of horses.

A working dog is just as important to managing a large herd in terrain.

I've heard of dogs selling for more than that.
