Yesterday, I spent a lot of time trying to use the Search function but just getting "0" replies.  Today I tried "Nettles" and "Stinging Nettles"  of which I know that there has been a lot of discussions on these.  I tried "All Available", "Food as Medicine", and "Medicinal Herbs" with "0" replies.

What is wrong?

Thanks for the heads up, Anne!
Looks like there's something wrong with the search function. I just started a process which will make the search function re-evaluate each post, and I think it will make it recover itself in about a couple of hours. Let's see!

Thanks!  I will try it later.  Did a google search and came up with many interesting posts on nettles on permies.com.

Yes!  It is back.  I tried a couple of different searches and both worked.  Thanks.

I was experiencing the same thing.  In addition, a post I made under the "soils" sub-forum did not appear in the general "most recent" forum view after it was posted.  Don't know if the two are related?

Did you  <CTRL-R> (Refresh) the Most Recent page?
A new post will not show up there until the screen is refreshed.

@John P: "Did you  <CTRL-R> (Refresh) the Most Recent page?"

Isn't this the same as just hitting the refresh button on the browser?  (In this case, Google Chrome)  I can still see the post there from yesterday in the "Soil" subforum and didn't know if I have to actively do something to have it show up in the 'most recent' list ..... or??....   Maybe I'm loopy on something here...

Something that might be your trouble.

When you are at the permies homepage or 'recent topics' the search is for all forums.
However, when you are elsewhere on the form, for example, viewing this thread, then the search function chooses to search only the forum you are in.  So, pressing 'search' from here automatically chooses to search the tinkering forum.

Then I chose soil from the drop down menu, searched your id, and it gave me: https://permies.com/forums/posts/list/40/56571#502759

It may not be what's going on, but it was certainly something I had trouble with at first.  Now I love that it does that.

Yes, it should be the same.
(Although the button doesn't always do a 'forced refresh', but rather just re-displays what is in your screen cache.)
Unfortunately for me, Firefox eliminated the Refresh button a few 'upgrades' ago.
