Using mobile apps on a Mac/PC

I am seriously LONG overdue to set up a Permies Instagram account - the only reason  I haven't is because I don't have a smartphone. I have a super old school slidey keyboard prepaid cell phone that I only use when I go to town if say, a pheasant flies into my windshield and shatters it (yep, last week was fun).

So anyway, I've been reading about emulator software that you can install to trick programs like Instagram into running on desktop and laptop computers, which is exactly what I need to do (Macbook Pro). Problem is, I cannot get Bluestacks to install for the life of me - despite having a solid internet connection, it keeps failing, and I'm getting a 404 message when I go to their support page, so I'm wondering if they're having some server issues.

So what are the alternatives? I'm going to spend another five minutes researching before I absolutely must go to sleep tonight, but has anyone had any success using Instagram (I need to be able to post) on a computer?

Thanks Burra - I'm in the process of making a deal on a tablet right now, but man, a software emulator sure would be cheaper. Even though this one is crazy stupid cheap.

Sooo....this might be stupid, but on the PC I can simply go to the Instagram webpage, without an app:  https://www.instagram.com/?hl=en.

Does that not work on a Mac?

Oh not stupid at all Jocelyn! It took me actually going there to figure this out, but the reason I need a mobile gizmo is all you can do is look on Instagram, you can't post or anything, so there's no way for me to do anything but browse from my computer.

Gah! I was supposed to have this taken care of by now, but the guy I'm buying this tablet from (supposedly) cannot for the life of him figure out Paypal. Getting irritated...
