Perhaps its just me, my browser setting or the site actually needs some tweaking. When I am looking at a thread and then login to respond can I please be returned to the thread I was looking at. Its frustrating being send back to the main forum page and then having to retrace the thread I was viewing again (and usually losing my train of thought in the process).
It is not just you. This bug has been pointed out many times by others. Here is a quick trick you can use to make it less annoying:
1. Login from the post/page you want to reply to.
2. After you have logged in, hit the back button on your browser until you go back to the post/page you want to reply to (normally 2 times).
3. Hit the refresh/reload button, and you should be logged in on the post/page you wanted to reply to.
4. You can now post the the thread you were on originally
The keyboard shortcuts on PC are as follows once you login:
alt+(left arrow key) : That will bring you back one page. Do that until you get back to the thread you want to respond to.
Once there, press F5 to refresh the page and you'll see that you are now able to press the reply button.
So in my case, I find a thread to respond to (this one in this case) and then press login, fill in the name/password fields, press enter. Once logged in I hold ALT and then press the left arrow twice to get back to the thread. Then press F5 to refresh so that now the page shows that I'm logged in.
And then I reply
I admit that having to login like this is a bit of a pain in the ass. For a while I wasn't replying to as much stuff because it was just too much clicking around to get back to where I started. Once I got the shortcuts figured out and I was able to stay logged in for more than twenty minutes without being auto-logged out (timed-out), I started being more active here again. It would be nice to get this little bug fixed though. Unless it's a feature for some reason that I'm not aware of.
