Urgh, formatting abbreviations?

I would like to make a post in response to community dealing with medical needs, but it keeps telling me I'm abbreviating... I don't understand!!

Can't even post it here because... it won't let me post

Is the abbreviation 'U'?  This site doesn't allow typical text abbreviations (like using 'U' instead of 'you') so trying to abbreviate, say, 'University' to just a 'U' without the quotes won't work...

It said it's "U"... but there's no "U" in the post! I did have a US, but I changed them both to United States with no luck

Have you tried just starting over rather than editing the original message? copy and paste your message to a new post and try submitting?

try copying and pasting here?   Maybe, check as David suggested, to be sure the thread isn't locked or if it's in the cider press you need a certain amount of apples....it shouldn't be telling you that you've used an abbreviation though in either of those cases
