This project has been a lot of work and we are almost ready to launch phase 1. We would love your feedback before we launch. See this thread to get a sneak peek and to help us polish it up before we go permies. https://permies.com/t/75092

I am planning stages of embedding on an epic journey across the United States. It will take over 2 years to complete and I need your help.
I am calling it the BermaBurn Tour. On this tour I will be visiting permaculture sites with three goals in mind:

1. Film as many online permaculture related courses as possible.
2. Film a guided tour and sit down interview with a leader of each location.
3. Film our experiences traveling across the country.

The journey will cost about $200,000 to accomplish. If you have funding ideas I would be happy to hear them out. Right now we are considering either investors for a % ROI or a Kickstarter. If you have Kickstarter pledge ideas I would be happy to hear them.
I will be taking an apprentice with me to help with documenting the trip, filming, driving and keeping everybody up to date on the forums and other social media. If you are interested in being this apprentice please fill out this form. I may take more than one or split up the duration of the internship (i.e. four 6 month internships or two 1 year internships):

Now, this is where I need your help! Below you will find a link to the PermaBurn Tour Map. I need your help in updating the map with the following location pins:

Type - Color - Icon Name - Description (please provide as much detail as possible in the description)

Documentary Tour - Purple - Camera - If you would like you and your project or someone else's to be included in the documentary.

Course Filming - Yellow - Books - Here is the big money maker for you! We are looking for courses to film. We plan on spending up to 1 week filming any of the chosen courses. They can be as simple as how to build a wicking bed. Here is the revenue split we are considering for the course : 50/25/25 (50% to instructor, 25% to Josiah, 25% PermaEthos) for the lifetime of the course.

Home Camping Offering - Blue - RV - If you are willing to allow us to park our truck and truck camper at your property please use this icon.

Recommended Camping Location - Brown - Tent - If you have a favorite camping spot you think we should stop at please use this icon.

Recommended Eating Location - Green - Restaurant - If you have a favorite restaurant you recommend we stop at please use this icon.

Points of Interest - Red - Hiking - You will see there are a ton of pre-filled points of interested already on the map. These are locations we are considering going to or investigating further for possible course/documentary filming. Please use this icon if you are not associated with the location but think it would be useful to us. Please provide as much detail as possible (website, who or what specifically is of interest and why).

You will see a blue route. Please do not alter this, I will be adjusting it based on the feedback you provide.

If you have any questions or comments please feel free to leave them below or contact me directly at josiah@permaethos.com
I am very excited to be going on this adventure and look forward to seeing your feedback. As the planning progresses I will keep you updated.

The feedback is coming in! Thank you everybody for adding to the map. Keep it up.
Some people are simply moving the map key icons to the places they want. Please create new ones instead of moving the map key icons. If you do that I have to re-create them each time.
If you are having issues with creating the icons you can always reply to this thread or email it to me and I will add them in.
Thanks again!

Howdy Josiah, I added a bunch of my favorite places to camp and hike in Wyoming. I wasn't sure how to mark them with the correct color, sorry. I know there are some permies in Cheyenne but thought they would need to put themselves on here.
If you visit the Wyoming farm to fork website they have some permie type folks who have done videos. Might be fun to contact some of them?

Thank you. I will check out the farm to fork. I would love to get in contact with the Cheyenne permies if you want to let them know about the project or send me an email with their contact information/locations. josiah@permaethos.com

Josiah- wow what an epic journey indeed!

I looked at links on your map in the Austin, TX area and most of them do not work on my iPad. Looking closer it seems like the links default "https://". By removing the 's' from "http" manually the linked websites worked. Does your submission form defaults to 'https://'?

I have my browser set to automatically force SSL is possible which is why the links have the https instead of http. Thank you for the heads up. I will go in and update as many as possible. If you want to help out you can update those links as well.
