If not, perhaps you should...

Get past the marajuana ad stuff on this site, I don't know why it is there.  Once past that, there is an interesting article about a local man here in P.O. WA who raises trout and grows veggies using aquaponics in a unique way.

Anyway, thought you (and everyone else) might find it interesting.

I'm not a big fan of aquaponics - I far prefer aquaculture.  Got any awesome aquaculture connections?

Ah.  Here I was so excited b/c he is just miles from my house AND I love trout.  I was romantically imagining interning....

No, I don't know any aquaculturists. lol  At least not yet.  I'm still pretty new up here.

*runs off to study everything 'aquaculture'*

Sally, that article shows up on the website with all the pot advertisements simply because it has the word "hydroponics" in it.  Here's the original source from the Kitsap Sun (much better source, much less distracting ads...)

one of the coolest set ups i read about had talapia
growing underneath growing beds and the fish waste
acted as a fertilizer while the fish had access to bugs.

the fish swam between the roots hanging down in
their growing area.

Would this be enough food? What is the food source for the fish?

It's a pleasure to see superheros taking such an interest in science. And this tiny ad:
