Go into any house on a sunny day, and you will find that the warmest spot, is the surface of curtains that block out the sun. And it's not just the bright sunny side. Dark colored curtains can get quite warm on the shady side as well. This is where the herb drying goes on. It could be as simple as using S hooks to poke through the fabric and support herbs that are tied into bundles. Or, Pockets could be sewn on. Some items could be put in the pockets and hooks could allow larger things to be hung from the edge of pockets. This would tend to make the curtains block a little more light, and it would allow the herbs to dry, without exposing them to the vitamin and color destroying bright light on the sunny side. Another minor bonus, would be that the curtain now becomes a sort of swamp cooler, with evaporation from the plant material.
I checked on Google Images, and couldn't find anything like this. It's simple enough that it must exist in some form. If you know of any examples of this, drop them here. I saw many examples of people hanging their herbs directly across the window, thus exposing them to direct sunlight, which is not good.

My friend's cat lies on top of the backrest of the couch, and turns the curtain into a hammock
That's exactly what I need Burra! I was just trying to figure out where I'm supposed to fit all of these things I need to dry and protect from critters. I found some of those racks on amazon for 15 dollars. I'll probably need a few. Actually... a lot more than a few. This year has been crazy productive in the garden.
In the winter time I have really dark, heavy curtains that I put on the south facing windows to collect some extra solar energy. It's pretty amazing how much heat you can accumulate with just a curtain in the right place. It's also a good place to start seedlings for heat loving plants. I place the plants on the window sill between the window and the curtain. They warm up fast so make sure to water them a little extra to keep them happy.
