I've made a pair like this for the S.C.A. (sca.org) but didn't have all the tools, and those tools make a big difference! My shoes weren't all that good to put it kindly.

Can anyone fix the embed code?

Cj, this link has these two youtube videos below the option to buy one...is one of them the one you were wanting to embed?

If not a mod can delete my post and I'm sure they can fix yours.  very cool shoes

Cj, I noticed when I 'quoted' your post that you used  'vimeo' instead of 'youtube' to embed....I imagine that's all it is.  If you get it maybe a moderator can delete my posts here?

Funny thing, the historical shoes actually tended to have the closer on the inside rather than outside. But modern folks expect the closer on the outside. The reason for the closer on the inside was so it would not snag on passing objects.

Thanks. I couldn't get vimeo to work and didn't think to look on youtube. I've linked the youtube one instead.

I have the tools, the supplies, and the skills to pay the bills. This might be the answer to keeping my spouse shod. He has very wide big flat feet and goes through $85 pairs of shoes plus $65 inserts like goats through a fence. I'm going to ask my buddy that fixes saddles on what current sides of leather prices are floating at. If I could shave $50 off a reshod of him every few months I'd love it.

Thank you.

Edit: it can be rented from Vimeo for $20 and purchased for $30.
http://villagevideo.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/TurnshoeCardDownload.pdf here is the PDF download which gives you the stuff you need to make the shoes, and some suppliers. I see they are giving west coast suppliers and I'm familiar with most of them. They steer you right.

Whatever. Here's a tiny ad:
