Anyone experiment with increasing the horizontal flue run to say 14" on a short bench run rather than using a secondary bell? Basically the same thing, just thought I would see if anyone had done something like this. If you had an 8" system that ran six feet, switch to 14" ducting for a yard or so, then switched back, would it perform the same as with a bell? I've only ever built a standard 8" without any secondary bells so this it outside my experience.

Thanks for the link. I've seen the NYC Rocket Stove build in the forum before and is probably what made me think of using a larger diameter just recently, I just couldn't place where I had seen it or if I had dreamed it instead. Thanks again. I'll post photos if I build
