Hey folks. I am a long time lurker on here, first time poster, was more active on Donkey's board awhile back. Me and the family have just made a Brexit to Asturias in northern Spain and I am looking for fellow rocket enthusiasts to meet up with, chat and practice my Spanish.

Hi Tom

My name is Nigel, I am a 62 year old English Guy living on my own in Rural Galicia in Lugo Province which borders with Asturias and I am looking to make contact with anyone else in North West Spain who is doing permaculture / alternative sustainable lifestyles.

I notice that there was no further thread to your post about Rocket Stoves, I must confess that I have yet to build a Rocket Stove myself but I do aspire to building one eventually I have built more conventional stoves before for camping in Benders.

I started looking at properties in North West Spain in 2015 and eventually I bought an old farmhouse which needs a lot of work doing to it but with a medium sized very overgrown garden and moved over here at the beginning of 2017, I do aspire to building a Rocket Stove but my priorities have had to be working on the House and infrastructure and getting the Garden producing food so the Rocket Stove has had to go on the back burner so as to speak but I would be interested to share experiences with you.

If you you decide you want to contact me, my address is Calousada, A, 5, Roupar de Abaixo, Xermade 27835 Galicia,  tel 034982188457 mobile 0034 659977831.

Regards

Nigel

Hi Nigel; Welcome to Permies... you to Tom :)      If your lucky Nigel, Tom has built a RMH before and you will have a semi local source of advice!
Both of you enjoy your new adventures in an exotic new place!

Hi Tom, I'm also a Tom that's just moved to Asturias with my family. Where are you based? We're in Villaviciosa. No experience with RMH's yet unfortunately but will hopefully get a chance to experiment soon.

Hello Tom, Nigel, Tom and everyone

I too have been scrolling through these pages for a few months now and have been mentally designing a rocket mass heater.
My girlfriend Elena and I moved to Asturias a couple of years ago and we have been living in an old cuadra turned cabaƱa in Villanueva de Santo Adriano for nearly a year.

I need to take some measurements and draw up a design more sophisticated than a few scribbles for this beautiful heated booth I'm imagining. When I do I'll be sure to share it on here.
I've also read Ianto and Leslie's book and am now looking for materials.

We started a permaculture "Round up" group with a few couples and families in our valley who are rebuilding houses, creating food forests or have an interest in permaculture and the associated lifestyles. The idea of the group is to do a permablitz on someone's project and do in an few hours with a dozen humans what would take one of us several weeks. It's also a great chance to meet up and eat good food together. You're very welcome to join the next time we get together, and a couple of us are interested in RMHs too.

Hi Nikolas:
You will be very happy when you have built your RMH they are just awesome!
I would like to suggest finding a copy of the "rocket mass heater builders guide" written by Ernie & Erica Wisner it has supplemented and improved on all the information in Ianto's book!

Hi Nikolas,

I'd love to get involved in your round up group! That's exactly what we're looking for here. Will try to send you a message.
