Just wanted to pass on the word to this community that the Lifelong Learning Center now also offers classes in Herbal Medicine. In addition to their already wonderful selection of classes, both diverse and very accessible, I am offering a couple of Beginning Herbal Medicine classes starting end of April.

S11-079: Beginning Herbal Medicine Making with Clinical Herbalist Britta Bloedorn
Wednesdays, April 27 - May 18, 6.30-9p at Sentinel High School
Connect with our medicinal plant allies and learn how to prepare high quality medicinal plant extracts. In this hands-on class you will learn the basics of herbal medicinal preparations and applications. We will make and sample herbal infusions and water-based extracts, tinctures using fresh and dry botanicals to prepare helpful medicinal plant extracts, herbal honeys, cough syrups, lozenges, infused oils, salves and liniments, and more. Learn and appreciate the art and science of herbal medicine making and how to make your own.

In this class we will explore the medicinal plants of Montana. Learn about some of our common native and introduced edible and medicinal plants including their identification, biogeography, wildcrafting and cultivation potential, uses and healing properties.
S11-080: Introduction to Herbal Medicine
Thursdays May 26- June 30, 7-9p at Emma Dickinson School
In this introduction to western herbal medicine class you will learn about the values and healing properties of medicinal plants. This class will cover the applications and preparations of common herbal remedies for the general body systems including the digestive, immune, cardiovascular, urinary, nervous, respiratory, muscular skeletal, reproductive systems', skin and liver health. Discover a holistic approach to health and learn how to take care of yourself using botanical medicine.
