Hello Ozarkian Permies! Recently some friends and I started a local meetup of permaculture students and practitioners in Springfield. The group inspired me to create a dedicated Ozarks forum. I don't mean to take away from the community here at permies but I think there are alot of benefits to having our own dedicated site and server. The idea is that it can be used to furthur connect permaculturists in the Ozarks with one another. Inspire more local meetups, and share experience and information with eachother about Permaculture in this specific bioregion. The forum is currently still in beta stage. At the moment I am taking a survey to gauge the interest in such a website. If you would be so kind to take a moment to answer a few questions it would help me out a ton. The survey is only 6 questions and takes on average about one whole entire minute to complete. Thanks for the help!    https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RKFKWG7

I'm a permie novice but would be very interested in participating in a forum. I'm anxious to meet anyone in the Springfield area. I currently live in Springfield but am actively looking for land in the area. Thank you!

Hi Pat Chaney!
Welcome to Permies, and to permaculture!
Lots to learn on this site, if you are novice, read as much of the site as you can, it's awesome fun stuff!

Hello All,

It is good to know that there are like minded folks in the general area.  I am about 2 hours south of Springfield in NW AR.  We have been here for 2 1/2 years now and love it.  It is so secluded and the Ozarks are beautiful.

I am doing only limited gardening stuff right now due to weather, but I am in the midst of building a rocket pizza oven like the kickstarter one with some engineering improvements.   Translated changes that I hope are improvements.  The testing will prove or disapprove that assertion.  My next permaculture type project is a rocket mass heater for the garage/work shop.

Nice to meet you all.

Sincerely,

Ralph
