I wonder, how did it go. I would also use remedies myself, because it is likely, that you both were exposed to similar environment, and since she is nursing, it might come through your milk as well. But herbs/supplements also will come through and it is a good thing. Here is what I found:
Estrogen excess
Juicing and eating carrots help to reduce excess estrogen in the body.
Wild yam, Milk thistle, maca, vitex,
Resveratrol
DIM supplement
omega 3s
zinc, magnesium, selenium
B group vitamins

Take limonene -found in oils of citrus fruit and tomatoes. Easy way to get it -use a quarter of lemon with a skin in a smoothie.
Eating foods low in fiber can also influence estrogen levels. Fiber helps the body excrete excess estrogen in the bowel. During constipation, stools remain in the bowels for longer resulting in estrogen reabsorption. Fiber also helps keep blood sugar levels balanced which is critical for optimal hormone balance. So eat lots of fiber.
Use liver support herbs such as bitters, because healthy liver can detox excess estrogen much better.
Avoid plastics, nonstick cookware, pesticides and nonorganic produce, that contains them, soy. Also, do not take receipts, unless needed as they contain BPA.
