Read a small article in Farm Show, vol 34, no 2 on a sensor-controlled chicken door these two guys invented. They were tired of forgetting to close the chicken door at night and wildlife getting their chickens. The door is sturdy, and can be set to open/close at the same time every day, and modified in order to close it during a storm or something. All you have to do if you order one is cut an 11x15" hole in the wall and attach with screws. It goes for $180. Teir website, chickendoors.com has a youtube on using it.
