Cleaned our Bathroom today! My bathroom is a bit of a permanent hot-mess. When we began the process to purchase this house, there were MANY MANY more people inhabiting it than there were supposed to be (a couple of fellows were even living in the outdoor laundry). We were assured the tenants were vacating the premises at the end of their tenancy agreement, which was to occur a month before hand-over.
As you are probably guessing, this did not happen and the previous owner was still removing trash and “cleaning” the day we were supposed to move in. We have since spent 9months continuing this momentous task, our local Recycle Centre has become very used to us arriving with trailer loads for them.
What does this have to do with the bathroom you ask?
Well, one of the large-form tiles in the shower/bathroom was kicked into the wall cavity, leaving a sizeable hole. We have taped builders plastic over the wall to allow us to shower without flooding our wall cavities. It makes the space useable, albeit rather difficult to clean, till we can afford to gut and rebuild the room. This, along with the hammer-struck floor tiles, the missing wall vanity and mirror (since replaced with a spare mirror we had at hand) has left us with a lack-luster space. So please, no judgement for the state of the place, we are doing what we can till we can do more.

Most of the room was cleaned with hot water, a cloth and a stiff bristled brush. What needed a little bit of help to shift I used vinegar and water solution with extra application of elbow grease

Had to wash my knits and woollen wovens, figured I might as well document the job for here!
I used my 0-superfat domestic soap, shaved into my wash water.

Fried eggs for lunch to have with my buckwheat and lentil flour fried flatbread, I love my mini cast iron pan, great for cooking small and quick when I am the only one home!

For this particular soap, yes! Takes me a few hours to render down the fat to a clean tallow, I then filter it through paper coffee filters to get any last bits that setting and scraping has not removed. Then it’s beautiful and clean and pure for use in the soap!
I also make our soap for bathroom use, my First Son has sensitive skin and many of the softeners and fragrances used in commercial soap irritates his skin. Making soap for a week or two once a year usually gives me enough for 12-16 months depending on how mad I get about it HAHA

With harvesting well and truely in full swing in our surrounding farms, dust is kicked up at an incredible volume. I converted a corner of our old Corner Store Building into a sewing studio earlier on this year and have discovered that straight up dirt accumulates on the wooden floors every day, floating in through our open eves. So! Sweeping every morning and every afternoon it is till we can get the funds required to enclose them. The nesting doves will not be pleased.

Ok! The finished pic shows my sink with the water still in it, it’s a pretty standard Australian shallow sink, filled to 1/3 volume. That would be approximately 5 litres. 5L is about 1.3 US Gal.
As for my soap, I used my domestic cleaner soap. I’ll attach my recipe as an image. This soap is made from home rendered beef tallow. I collect it from beef cuts I cook up for my Second Son and my Husband as neither like to eat the top-fat. It will be a much faster collection from here out as our local butcher is adding a higher fat content to his mince mix nowadays and we are finding it too oily without pouring off!
Hope this meets the requirements.

Been a bit since I last did mine, was amused to find it’s a PEP item too! I use olive oil as it’s the only oil I’ve ever used for this and I don’t think I’ve ever seen walnut oil in the stores around here. Hands-on application and old knitted cotton dishcloth to rub in/buff.

I am brand new here, so please forgive me any formatting issues. I do not have a full-size-dishwasher so I am not sure how much would fit in one (they are not as ubiquitous here in AUST, but still fairly common), but I have let my dishes accumulate over two day’s to make sure to have enough.
