do laundry by hand - PEP BB nest.sand.handlaundry

Wanted to wait one more day to get a bigger load, but rain  was in the forecast for the next few days.

Part A:I actually rather enjoyed using the manual washing machine here at Base Camp. A couple pairs of cargo pants, half a dozen shirts, and a bunch of socks and skivvies!

Filled the washer about 1/3 with water, a little soap from the outdoor showers here, washed colors then whites with the same wash water, then did a rinse cycle for each. Line dried them, folded and ready to use some after my shower maybe 2 hours later.

Part B

I had always meant to try out an emergency way to wash clothes.  I have upper body health issues so I always thought I could wash the clothes in the tub by stomping on them, which was fine except that they had to be wrung out... The overalls realy do not wrong so they were draped over the shower head over night to drip then added to the drying rack this morning.  

I do not like doing laundry and minimize it by having inside clothes and outside and rewearing This was 5 days clothes, 5 shirts, 5 panties, 3 pair wool socks, 2 hankies, 1 pair overalls to wear in the yard, 1 pair pj bottoms to wear in the house and 1 hand towel.  ( There was actually a dress worn to town once but not washed with this load).  I washed with low water in the bath tub with Oasis laundry liquid, a small amount, I used  warm weather as it was more comfortable for me.  The photos show the initial water with soap that I stomped in and you can see how much dirt came off, that was drained then clear water was stomped thru them and that was still dirty so then a second rinse which looked clean and that is the second photo.

I almost forgot to report that they all look clean, even the overalls, and they smell like nothing, just clean. So I am happy with the results
