This is a badge bit (
BB) that is part of the
PEP curriculum. Completing this BB is part of getting the sand badge in
Community.
In this badge bit, you will do 8
oddball points) worth of work in improving a
permaculture library that is used for the benifit of others, such as the one at
Wheaton Labs. This work would take a skilled worker 8 hours to complete with all their materials already assembled--it will likely take you three times as long.
It can be one thing from this list, or many to add up to 8 oddball points:
- Organizing the
books
- Creating section titles/labels/signs, such as "fiction" "cooking" "building" "growies" etc
- Shelving books
- Making shelves
- Creating a resource section, for
games, tools, etc
- Creating/managing a check-in/check-out system
- Bringing bindings of books to the front of the shelves and level with one another
- Mending broken/riped books
- Going through the shelves to ensure they were re-shelved correctly
- Create and stock a mobile or "little free" library
- Make a directory--or update the directory--of all the books and resources
- Making chairs and tables for people to read and work at
To qualify for this Badge Bit, you must:
- Describe your library and who has access to it. Link to a
thread about that library (create such a thread if it doesn't exist)
- Post a before picture
- Post a during picture (if doing multiple things to add up to 8 oddball points, post a during picture of each
project)
- Post an after picture
- this improvement must rack up 8 points by the rules of
Oddball points)
